Nestled in the heart of Austin at Colorado Tower, Red Ash is a captivating Italian restaurant that masterfully blends tradition with contemporary flair. Known for its artisanal approach to handmade pasta and wood-roasted specialties, Red Ash invites diners into an atmosphere where rustic elegance meets modern sophistication.

The menu is a vibrant celebration of Italy’s culinary heritage, featuring standout dishes that promise to delight the senses. Guests rave about the Wood Roasted Beef Bone Marrow, served with perfectly toasted country Italian bread and a robust mushroom risotto—an indulgent dish where silky richness meets smoky earthiness. The Octopus a La Plancha offers delightfully tender bites with a subtle char, harmonizing beautifully with fresh, bright accompaniments.

Handmade pasta takes center stage here, with the Agnolotti Del Plin — beef ravioli bathed in roasted veal jus and adorned with sliced fresh truffles — standing out as a luxurious and deeply flavorful choice. Meanwhile, the Tagliolini with Fresh Blue Crab and Black and White Seafood Pasta showcase Red Ash’s skill in balancing delicate seafood flavors with rich, creamy sauces, resulting in vibrant, textural contrasts that keep every bite exciting.

As much as the savory dishes impress, Red Ash truly shines when it comes to desserts. The Hot Chocolate Gianduja Cake, paired with fior di latte gelato and peanut butter croccante, is a luscious finale that melds intense chocolate notes with light, creamy textures. Guests also rave about the Hot Cream Filled Doughnuts with blackberry marmelatta and the fragrant Olive Oil Cake, which offers a moist crumb infused with golden raisins in marsala and pistachios, finished with refreshing orange zest.

The restaurant’s bustling ambiance is lively yet intimate, perfect for celebrations, romantic dinners, or simply savoring a thoughtfully prepared meal.

One diner reflects on their visit with palpable enthusiasm: “Everything was fresh and very elegant; the food bursts with flavor.” Another shares how a small but heartfelt birthday card from the staff elevated their evening, setting a tone of genuine hospitality and care. The consensus is clear — Red Ash delivers perfection plate after plate with a dedication to quality and detail that leaves a lasting impression.

I had a great experiences with the food patrons here. Everything was fresh and the food was very elegant and flavorful. I highly recommend trying their desserts as well. The service at the bar is quality and softens the reality of you not getting a table. I’ll be back at a different time of the day. The bone marrow over mushroom risotto and the octopus were fire

There is no way to describe our meal, other than, Perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly. The Octopus was tender and craveworthy! The Lobster Scampi was the best Lobster I have ever had. We went for my wife's birthday, and they was a little card on the table with the staff signatures, wishing her a Happy Bday. It was a cute touch but it set the tone for the dinner. I honestly felt relaxed because I was confident the staff was taking care of us. Take someone you love, take someone you hate, it doesn't matter, just GO!!!!!!! It's so absolutely worth it.

Wonderful overall dining experience. The food was delicious. The bone marrow is succulent and the shallot butter is great compliment. The garlic bread it is served with is on crunchy fresh sourdough. The squash blossoms are nicely fried but could use more ricotta. The blue crab pasta has substantial crab and the butter sauce is flavorful without overpowering the nicely al dente pasta. The Gnocchi melts in your mouth and the cheesy sauce is impeccable. The chocolate lava cake is very chocolatey but not overwhelming hazelnutty and has a little bit of peanut butter in the middle. Our waitress Brandy was wonderfully helpful and took amazing care

Difficult to find an open reservation here, so make sure to book ahead of time! We went in at 8:30 and the restaurant was still completely full — don’t try your luck, make a reservation. The food was absolutely worth the wait. The bone marrow is amazing and a must-try — it comes with two pieces of bread and a rich mushroom sauce, both fantastic. The beef tartare was okay. Lobster spaghetti is really good too - the portion is generous, the seafood is fresh, and the flavor is perfectly balanced — not too salty or creamy, which I love. For dessert, we had the tiramisu (incredibly rich and creamy, probably the thickest I’ve ever had!) and the chocolate brandy gelato, which was also excellent. Highly recommend this place — just make sure to plan ahead!

I went to Red Ash and overall had a great experience. The steak was excellent—9.2/10, cooked well and full of flavor. The gnocchi pasta was also very good, a solid 8/10, rich and satisfying. The cauliflower dish was interesting but not my favorite. The portion was huge, which sounds great, but bigger isn’t always better—I wish it had been more well-done on the grill for deeper flavor and better texture. The absolute standout of the night was the tiramisu—10/10. Easily one of the best I’ve had, perfectly balanced and unforgettable. I’d definitely come back, especially for the steak and dessert.

Red Ash Italia is hands down my favorite restaurant of all time. I have been here for anniversary dates, work dinners, and nights out with friends, and it is flawless every single time. The space is trendy, upscale, and lively without feeling chaotic, and the food somehow exceeds expectations no matter how high they already are. We always start with the chopped salad, Italian bread, bone marrow, and squash blossoms, all of which are phenomenal. Every bite tastes intentional, homemade, and incredibly fresh. For entrees, the beef filet and Osso Buco Milanese are outstanding, with the Osso Buco being especially memorable. The rainbow baby carrots are the perfect side, and the hot apple crostata to finish is unreal. The menu is unique, the execution is perfect, and everything feels elevated without being pretentious. Truly an 11 out of 10 experience. My only complaint is that they book up fast, so I cannot eat here every day. I think I would live here if they let me.

My wife and I went here and had a joint birthday dinner. It DID NOT disappoint! After we were greeted with a personalized birthday card (such a nice touch), we started out with an orange and beat salad and bone marrow with bread for appetizers. We then ordered risotto, gnocchi, and (the star of the show) a 30 day aged New York strip. For desert, we finished with a slice of olive oil cake and tiramisu. This place truly lived up to the hype for us. Shoutout to our waitress, Brandy, for being so fun and adding good vibes and conversation to the night. Incredible experience! Treat yo self, people!
